Get ready to make some fishing history, because the Skeet Reese Big Bass Battle Fishing Tournament is set to electrify the waters of Clearlake, CA! This isn’t your grandfather’s bass tournament. It’s an action-packed, two-day event where anglers of all skill levels compete for big prizes, major bragging rights, and the chance to hook the catch of a lifetime. Grab your gear and bring your A-game—excitement on the water is guaranteed!
What makes the Big Bass Battle, presented by Reese Outdoor Productions, so special? It throws out the traditional format where anglers weigh in five bass at the end of the day. Instead, this event is designed for amateur anglers to win multiple cash payouts throughout the day through our unique hourly weigh-ins.
Each tournament day, Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, features seven hourly weigh-ins starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 3:00 PM. Cash prizes are awarded to the top ten biggest bass every single hour. That means you have 14 total chances across the weekend to hit the scales and walk away a winner! Over the two days, we’re offering a staggering total of 140 hourly cash payouts. The payout structure is generous, with $1,000 for 1st place down to $100 for 10th place each hour. With hourly payouts totaling $21,175 per day, the opportunities are massive. Remember, you only need one big fish to enter, and you can only enter one bass per hourly weigh-in, keeping the playing field open and exciting for everyone.
While those hourly wins can certainly fund your next fishing trip, the Grand Prize is the true showstopper. The angler who lands the single biggest bass of the entire event will win an incredible, fully rigged Ranger Z519R boat package. This prize, powered by a Mercury® 225 HP ProXS, and outfitted with a Power Pole Move trolling motor, Power Pole Blades, and Lowrance electronics, is valued at over $90,000! The Skeet Reese Big Bass Battle is more than just fishing; it’s a full-on celebration of the angling community. The action kicks off on Thursday, June 25, with “Skeet’s Take on Clear Lake,” a live-stream Q&A session with Skeet at the Konocti Harbor Resort restaurant and bar.
On Friday, June 26, join us for our biggest social night: a complimentary dinner and fun get-together at the Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa banquet room, where you can meet sponsors and socialize. Be sure to RSVP during registration to help us get an accurate headcount.
The fun continues off the water on Saturday evening, June 27, after tournament hours end. Head over to the Shannon Mercantile Winery for a cornhole tournament (with a chance to win Reese fishing rods!). We’ll have food trucks (food for purchase), live music, great Shannon wines at the tasting bar, and free beer provided by Crooked Goat Brewing.
