17th Annual Blue Wing Blues Festival - Aki Kumar opens for The Johnny Burgin Blues Band

Aki Kumar and his band will open for the dynamic Johnnie Burgin Band. Rockin’ Johnny Burgin was raised in Mississippi and South Carolina, while at the University of Chicago he fell headfirst into the vibrant Chicago blues scene. He eagerly absorbed the lessons of all the Chicago masters and he became a staple on the club scene there in the late 1990s. Since then, he and his band have recorded 11 CDs and performed at major venues throughout the world. In 2023 he earned a BMA Nomination for Best Traditional Blues Artist while playing 200 dates across the U.S., Mexico, Japan and Europe.
