With the cleanest air in the country, and minimal fog and clouds, Lake County offers one of the best stargazing experiences around. All the constellations of the Milky Way are in clear site, with shooting stars, planets, and the moon putting on a spectacular nightly show for all to see.
For the past 32 years Taylor Observatory, located in Kelseyville, has served as Lake County’s home for astronomy. It’s a great option for the kids and it features a research grade telescope capable of locating over 140,000 celestial objects. You can also enjoy a dazzling multi-media experience under the 20ft dome of the facility’s planetarium.
