While our thriving wine country and 10,000-year-old volcano tend to dominate the conversation, we’re here to tell you – our farmers’ markets are pretty great too, with the savory meats and scrumptious produce to prove it.

You might be thinking: “Great. I’ll stop by in the spring or summer.”

We have good news for you: Any Saturday will do.

Yep, whether it’s the crisp chill of winter, the bright greens in spring, the warm days of summer, or the kaleidoscope of colors in autumn, Lake County Farmers’ Finest is open every Saturday from 10am to 1pm.

Yep, rain or shine, simply show up any Saturday at The Shannon Mercantile to enjoy the bounty Mother Nature bestows, and our hard-working farmers procure. Your eyes will widen and your tummy will rumble at the abundance of locally grown fruits and vegetables, thoughtfully raised meats, and handcrafted treats that lay before you.

Basically, it’s like Rodeo Drive for fresh meat and produce lovers. Speaking of, you’ll get to meet with – and purchase from – local celebrities of the Lake County farming community.

There’s Bald Mountain Farm, the new kid on the block, but already making a name for themselves with delectable pork, goat, and lamb, raised with care and full of flavor.

Say “hi” to Lake County legends Cottonwood Farms, whose bounty boasts crisp lettuces, tangy kiwi, and farm-fresh eggs that are almost too pretty to crack, but too tasty to not.

And if your sweet tooth is calling, Eden Berry Farm answers the call with homemade jams, lovingly preserved from fruit grown right on the Big Valley floor.

Make the market part of your Saturday tradition, any time of the year. It’s certainly worth the short drive, as it’s a mainstay for locals and a must-visit for guests. Fresh, friendly, and full of heart. Basically, Lake County at its best.

P.S. If you’re visiting in the summer, check out the Lakeport Farmers Market. It takes place on Tuesday at Library Park from 10am to 1pm, where the season really comes alive.

So grab your coffee, tuck a reusable bag under your arm, pack a big smile, and step into some of Lake County’s finest local flavor – brought to you by Mother Nature’s benevolence and our devoted farmer’s diligence.

We’ll see ya when ya get here.
