Bravo to our small but mighty Peace & Plenty Farm in Kelseyville, CA., who was recently featured in this New York Times article, “How Saffron, a Precious Import, Became an American Cash Crop,” penned by journalist Jane Black.
Owner/farmers Melinda Price & Simon Avery are “part of a resurgence of interest in growing saffron among American small farmers in search of a cash crop, and among cooks and backyard gardeners seeking the thrill of growing the spice.”
Considered one of the world’s most precious spices, Peace & Plenty farm sells their locally grown organic saffron in saffron-infused honey, herbal tea, and of course, the traditional saffron threads used to flavor paella, tagines, and baked goods.
Their on-site Farmstand is open Winter Hours:
Wednesday – Sunday, 10am till dusk. Order Online at https://peaceplentyfarm.com/collections
