Where to find the best wings in Lake County

February 28, 2024

Wings make every sporting event better. Heck, they make every meal better!

So, if you’re looking for world-class wings, you don’t have to go to Buffalo, NY or the upper midwest. We have got them right here in Lake County! Plus, you won’t have to worry about wearing a winter coat.

Bring your buddies, grab a few beers, and check out the top three spots for wings in Lake County!

1. Blue Wing Saloon & Cafe

9520 Main St, Upper Lake, CA 95485

Blue Wings & Pabst Blue Ribbon

One would reason that the Blue “Wing” Saloon & Cafe located next to the Tallman Hotel in Upper Lake has killer Blue Wings ($17) and in fact, they do.  Amazement might be a better word.

Brine’d overnight in a concoction of brown sugar, apple juice, salt and water these ten tasty wingettes are roasted, quickly deep fried to order, tossed in a homemade buffalo sauce and served X-crispy with chunky blue cheese ($1) on top. For those that want it hot – this is not your spot, but these wings are crispy on the outside and moist on the in. Also on the plus side, they come accompanied with homemade blue cheese dipping sauce that is rich, creamy and plentiful.

Get your Midwest on and Double Down.  The Blue Wing icy cold Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap making for that perfect champagne’n caviar paring.

Don’t be fooled by the name.  Kelseyville Pizza is no one-trick pony which they effortlessly demonstrate offering Wings in two value options (6pc $5,95/12pc $10.95).  Accompanied by a bevy of sauces; BBQ, Mango Hobanero, Lemon Pepper, Sweet Chili and Garlic Parmesan.  We went with the most popular and  classic – Buffalo which lived up to their namesake delivering a “bite” to the  tip of the tongue.

Oven roast these wings are best to eat on-premise or make sure you vent the recyclable to-go container so they don’t steam themselves.  Lots of blue cheese dressing makes these wings perfect for any occasion.  Beer and local wines are proudly poured.
