Celebrate the 4th of July in Lake County!
June 27, 2019
Join our week-long celebration of independence in Lake County, California. Since the 4th of July falls midweek this year, we’ve rounded up some of the best summer events and activities on either side of the holiday, and a few special ones on the big day itself.
Hit The Streets!
Check out art, food and small-town spirit as you shop and dine with our local small businesses. Scope out the burgeoning art scene in Middletown at the First Friday Art Walk, or hit Lakeport’s annual street fair on July 4th for a festival atmosphere and city-sponsored fireworks over the lake after dark.
Soak Up the Sun!
Explore the tree-lined trails of Lake County by bike, horseback, or on foot and take in our golden hills and sweeping lake views. If you’d prefer to get your kicks on the water instead, book a ride on a birdwatching pontoon tour, or rent the boat of your dreams from one of several vendors at Clear Lake.
Jam Out!
Enjoy live music at outdoor venues across the county this week, from the folky Fiddlers Jam at Ely Stage Stop – to tasteful wine and blues at Langtry Estate Vineyards – to the BYO lawn chair, family-friendly summer concert series at Lakeport Library Park.
Get Creative…
Try your hand at boatbuilding with America’s favorite fix-all at the Cardboard and Duct Tape Regatta, then put your vessel to the test with races for the kiddos as well as teens and adults. For families with toddlers and preschool-aged kids, join in on free farm-themed activities on Friday, July 5 at the Lakeport Courthouse Museum, and browse their latest exhibit, The Way We Played if you’re traveling with sports history buffs of any age.
We hope to see you in Lake County this July, and wish you and yours a happy Independence Day. Bring the dogs, bring the kids, bring your sunscreen, and come celebrate America in small town USA.
