Four July 4th Celebrations in Lake County

June 16, 2023

One amazing thing about Lake County is that every year, there are multiple opportunities to celebrate the Independence Day. Each filled with plenty of excitement, plenty of food, and plenty of fireworks. If you’ve got the time and want a holiday to remember, you can celebrate four days in a row. But even if you only make it to one, it will be worth it. Here are some great ways to spend the 4th of July in Lake County.

July 1st — Clearlake

Start your 4th of July holiday early in Clearlake. Gather everything needed for a picnic or pick up food from one of the vendors surrounding Austin Park, then spend some time rocking out to Def Leppard Revisited and Journey Revisited from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Get your dose of thrills or high views from the ferris wheel at the carnival across the street. Then, as the day turns to dusk, head back to your boat or spot at the park, and enjoy the city’s annual fireworks show, where you are guaranteed to have the best views, whether you are anchored in the water or on a blanket on the grass. Don’t own a boat? Not a problem. Disney Boat Rentals in Lakeport have got you covered for the weekend of adventuring.

July 2nd — Lakeport

Head up the lake to Konocti Vista Casino, Resort & Marina, where the DJ starts the music early, and the vibe is flowing into the evening. Bring a blanket to spread across the lawn, or, if you’re interested, you can always kick back on the dock at the marina, which provides one of the best views of the fireworks. They’ll have drinks and a full barbecue going, too, so you won’t be hungry or thirsty.

July 3rd — Clearlake Oaks

If you are looking for a vibe more along a small-town Fourth of July, head to Clearlake Oaks for their show. On your way, pick up a pizza from Firehouse or some takeout Chinese from Happy Garden and find a spot near the boat ramp. For a unique experience, walk across the bridge to Clark Island and spread out your picnic blanket and chairs there. Then, when dusk comes, stretch out and soak in the beautiful image of fireworks reflected off the water.

Lakeport consistently puts on a great show for the Fourth of July. People come early to Library Park to enjoy the day. The street fair provides plenty of distractions, with food vendors, clothing vendors, and plenty of other surprises. A DJ set up in the gazebo provides music to the families spread across the grass. Spend the afternoon wandering around downtown, catching up with old friends or making new ones, and people-watching before the spectacular fireworks display starts at dark.
